Job Summary
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily learning activities while supporting children's cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical growth. Foster creativity, independence, and positive behavior through observation and individualized support. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom by supervising children during meals, naps, and transitions, and preparing learning centers. Communicate professionally with families regarding daily activities and development, while collaborating with the director and fellow educators. Assist with classroom assessments, documentation, and maintaining accurate attendance records. Adhere to all Massachusetts EEC regulations, health, safety, and sanitation procedures. Candidates must hold a current Massachusetts EEC Professional Qualifications Certification as a Preschool Teacher, a suitable background check, and First Aid/CPR certification. This role offers free or discounted Tae Kwon Do classes and professional development assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts EEC Professional Qualifications Certification as a Preschool Teacher (TP)
- Suitable Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC)
- Completion of EEC Staff Orientation and EEC Essentials training
- First Aid and CPR certification (required or obtained within the required timeframe)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create a safe, positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and fellow educators
- Basic computer and Google Drive skills
- Ability to maintain all required EEC certifications, trainings, and professional qualifications throughout employment
- Valid 7D Driver's License (or interest in obtaining one as a backup driver)
- Monday through Friday availability based on preschool program needs
