Job Summary
Implement the lead teacher's plan to supervise safe classroom activities promoting emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development. Greet each child and parent warmly upon arrival while actively participating in freeplay, playground, and specialty classes. Assist in documenting assessments, maintaining communication tools via Brightwheel, and ensuring a safe, clean environment. Cover classrooms as needed due to flexible staffing ratios, partnering with the team to uphold JCC Jewish curriculum and Step Up to Quality standards. Complete incident reports and attend required staff meetings and trainings. Maintain confidentiality and meet individual child needs through consistent engagement.
Required Qualifications
- CDA
- AA or BS in Early Childhood Development or Elementary Education, a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Previous experience working with young children
- two years minimum preferred
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with young children
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work constructively with children and adults
- Professional and positive attitude
- Physically able to keep up with children
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to run
- Ability to sit on the floor
- Stamina
