Job Summary
Preschool Teacher responsible for instruction, supervision, and provision of developmentally appropriate learning activities for Head Start children in an extended-day classroom. Collaborates with Teaching Assistant, Center Manager, and classroom staff to achieve school-readiness goals; requires flexible schedule including some evenings for parent meetings; front-line, face-to-face work with children and families; must use own vehicle for occasional home visits; 183 days/year, 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri) with non-telecommuting. Knowledge of early childhood development, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision are essential. Bilingual Spanish-skills are desirable depending on location.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized institution OR Associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (ECE) OR related field with equivalent coursework with 3 qualified classes in ECE with 3 years experience teaching preschool children OR 4 classes with 2 years OR 5 classes with 1 year
