Job Summary
Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing company-selected curriculum activities and safely transport children to and from designated locations. Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, keeping the classroom, vehicle, and learning areas clean and organized. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, field trips, and transportation while supporting completion of DRDP evaluations and documentation. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and address concerns professionally. Attend 1–3 monthly trainings and staff meetings after hours, working occasional overtime as needed. Possess at least 12 Early Childhood Education units and 1–2 years of experience with preschool-age children.
Required Qualifications
- At least 12 Early Childhood Education units, must include: Early Child Development; Child, Family & Community; Infant & Toddler; and any other Child Development class (i.e. Program & Curriculum, Child Health & Safety, etc.)
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to meet company driving requirements
- Must pass DSS Background Check
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit on the floor and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle and assist children in entering and exiting the vehicle
- Must be able to work occasional overtime as needed and attend scheduled staff meetings after hours
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of experience working with preschool-age children preferred
- Passionate about working with children (infants through school age) and possesses a positive and patient demeanor
- Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with various personalities
- Willing to learn software applications and adapt to change
