Job Summary
Preschool Teacher for infants through preschool-aged students. Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom; implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth; document attendance records, food program compliance, developmental milestones, accident reports, and daily parent communication; use positive guidance techniques; collaborate respectfully with team members to ensure the success of the children and the school family. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; prior teaching or child care experience preferred; TB test and FBI/SLED background checks required; SC Early Childhood Credential (ECD 101) preferred; pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED certifications required; valid driver’s license and transportation training if transporting children.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Minimum age 18
- TB test and physical before start date
- FBI background check
- SLED background check
- Annual completion of 15 hours of training including 5 hours in child growth and development and 5 hours in curriculum activities for children and remaining hours in health, safety, or other child care-related topics
- Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
- Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean DPS record and transportation training
- Completion of the South Carolina Early Childhood Credential (ECD 101)
- At least 6 months of experience in a regulated child care facility
- Ability to bend, stoop, and run to keep up with active children
- Strong communication and interaction skills with children and parents
