Job Summary
Preschool Summer Support Staff assists with the day-to-day oversight and care of children in the School Readiness Preschool Classroom. Responsibilities include maintaining positive, respectful relationships with families from diverse backgrounds; communicating feedback clearly to families; ensuring children's safety; holding current first aid and CPR certification; attending professional development aligned with state licensing, funding, and NAEYC requirements; collaborating with staff to maintain NAEYC accreditation; assisting children with self-care tasks (including diapering); physically assisting children on and off playground equipment and furniture; and supporting the classroom's operations during PreK summer sessions. The role is temporary and on an as-needed basis, located in Norwich, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in ECE preferred.
- Knowledge of CT ELDS and NAEYC standards preferred.
- Previous experience, training and/or expertise in working with young children (under 5) and their families preferred.
- Current NPS paraeducators preferred.
