Preschool Substitute Teacher

Job Summary
Assist permanent classroom teachers in implementing daily activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development for toddlers and preschoolers. Maintain records on each child's progress, complete routine reports, and observe daily to assess skills and needs. Keep the indoor and outdoor learning environment safe, organized, and conducive to optimal development while supporting health and sanitation expectations. Build positive relationships with co-workers, families, and church staff, and participate in staff meetings and professional development. Perform other duties as required and minister to children and families as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to relate positively with young children, parents, and staff
- Demonstrate success in working as a member of a team
- Effective and strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrate an ability to work successfully with community-based agencies
- Must be a professing Christian
- Demonstrate Christian values that support the goals and objectives of Friendly Ave Christian Preschool and Friendly Ave Baptist Church
- Able to lift 30 lbs
- Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children's health and safety
- Spend time outdoors daily in all seasons of weather
