Job Summary
Assist teachers with instructional activities, behavior management, and student care in special education, general education, and community settings. Supervise students during lunch, recess, hallways, and bus loading/unloading while implementing Individual Education Plans and maintaining safe, orderly environments. Prepare instructional materials, organize classrooms, and perform personal care duties including feeding, toileting, and sanitizing as needed. Chart student performance, complete Medicaid documentation, and follow behavior management strategies to reduce inappropriate conduct. Lift and position students with disabilities, maintain confidentiality, and foster harmonious relationships with parents and colleagues. Work 6 hours daily for 190 days, with eligibility for benefits at 30 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- AA degree or 60 college credits
- Para Certification Level I and Level II Early Childhood
- Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act
