Job Summary
Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons, routines, and learning activities while building positive relationships with preschool students. Assist in meeting the needs of all learners, including those with disabilities, by leading small-group and individual learning activities as directed. Prepare instructional materials, maintain classroom centers, and observe students to document growth and progress. Encourage positive behavior and assist with daily routines, transitions, meals, toileting, and dressing. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success, maintaining confidentiality and following all district policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or administration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative preschool team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine passion for working with young children
Desired Qualifications
- Iowa Paraeducator Certificate
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children, including children with disabilities or diverse learning needs
