Job Summary
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons covering literacy, mathematics, science, and faith formation while differentiating instruction for individual student needs. Establish consistent classroom routines, maintain active supervision during activities and transitions, and document student growth and areas of concern. Provide clear direction to classroom assistants, coordinate responsibilities to ensure student safety, and communicate regularly with families regarding progress and upcoming events. Model Christian values, incorporate prayer and Scripture into daily routines, and uphold the Catholic mission of Immaculate Conception School. Maintain accurate attendance records, follow diocesan safety requirements, and attend faculty meetings and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to provide a nurturing environment while maintaining clear and consistent expectations
- Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of Immaculate Conception School
- Ability to meet all background check, Safe Environment, and employment requirements of Immaculate Conception School and the Diocese of Nashville
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Previous experience as a lead preschool or early childhood teacher
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience in a Catholic or faith-based educational environment
