Job Summary
Deliver classroom work, reinforce objectives, and provide 1:1 or small group instruction tailored to student IEP goals under teacher direction. Assist with modifying curriculum, developing instructional materials, and maintaining classroom and student equipment. Implement positive behavior intervention plans, monitor problem behaviors, and apply de-escalation strategies to support students in distress. Transfer non-ambulatory students, assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities, and accompany students during campus transitions. Perform general clerical tasks, including Medicaid billing and file maintenance, while collaborating with the SPED team to meet academic and behavioral goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours
- Pass the ParaPro Test
- 6 months experience with preschool children
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, and kneel frequently throughout the day
- Must be able to lift or assist students who have physical disabilities including transferring students to and from wheelchairs, standing frames, or other equipment (commonly 25-50 lbs, but sometimes more)
- Regular and on-time attendance

- Previous experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles
