Job Summary
Assist teaching staff in maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing preschool classroom environment; supervise preschool-age children in classrooms and on playgrounds; support daily routines (toileting, dressing, meals, transitions); help implement activities (free play, story time, learning centers); maintain classroom cleanliness and replenish supplies; communicate respectfully with children, families, and staff; assist with basic record keeping and provide classroom coverage to maintain child-teacher ratios; meet Oregon Early Learning Division requirements for preschool Teacher Aide II in metro locations.
Required Qualifications
- No prior education or experience is required
- High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria AND Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate; or 1 year Oregon community college certificate (college certificate is equivalent to ORO step 8 in field) WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on development of preschool age children
