Preschool Gymnastics Teacher

Job Summary

Teach preschool gymnastics classes by assimilating the Sweet Pea curriculum, mastering skill progressions, and consistently delivering lessons that build confidence and physical skills. Provide growth opportunities for students through regular parent communication, detailed written evaluations, and direct recognition ceremonies for achievements. Support special events by participating in planning, promotion, and staffing for competitions, shows, and holiday performances. Assist managers in meeting department goals by attending meetings, reviewing communications, and maintaining strict attendance and punctuality standards. Substitute for other instructors when called upon to ensure adequate class coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant preschool gymnastics experience and knowledge
  • Strong personal gymnastics skills and ability to demonstrate gymnastics technique
  • Excellent teaching skills and ability to achieve positive and measurable results in the gym
  • Optimistic and positive approach to the role and responsibilities of the Preschool Gymnastics Teacher
  • Ability to work happily and effectively with a diverse group of students and families
  • Ability to influence peers and superiors in a positive way
  • Excellent cooperative nature and desire to facilitate managers' responsibilities including growth of the program, quality, scheduling, operations, budget, etc
  • Superior interactive skills and experience working with children, parents and the public

Desired Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years participation in gymnastics as an athlete
  • 2 - 4 years experience teaching in a preschool gymnastics environment
  • 2 - 4 years experience or education lending to knowledge of early childhood physical, cognitive and social development
  • Relevant choreography experience with a wide spectrum of gymnastics activities and routines for teaching and for special events
  • Relevant experience participating and assisting in the planning special events including performance events, holiday events, student evaluations, gymnastics celebrations, etc.
  • Current Pediatric CPR Certification
  • Current Pediatric First Aid Certification
  • 6 Early Childhood Education Units
