Job Summary
Preschool Educator for Head Start program in Monroe, NC. Lead a preschool classroom for 3- and 4-year-olds, plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, monitor progress, partner with families through conferences and home visits, supervise in classroom and meal settings, ensure compliance with Head Start standards and CACFP. Schedule Monday–Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week). Starting rate up to $20.56/hour. Eligible for PSLF, benefits, PTO, tuition assistance, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Teacher I- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school
- Teacher II- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
- Teacher III- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Early Child Development or equivalent from a four-year college or university; North Carolina State BK-Teacher’s Certification, and one to two years’ related experience and/or training
- CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience working in preschool or early childhood setting
- Child Care Credentials I & II (EDU 119) required, or ability to obtain
