Job Summary
Co-create and organize a stimulating, developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschoolers (ages 2–3.5) both inside and outside the classroom. Ensure visual supervision and child safety at all times while supporting emergent curriculum tailored to individual learning styles. Facilitate supportive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, establishing regular communication through newsletters, Educa updates, and emails to share special moments and address daily issues. Assist the teaching team in maintaining a structured routine that includes scheduled meal and rest breaks for staff while keeping a flexible daily schedule for children. Observe and respond to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts, including first aid requirements and physical caregiving tasks such as kneeling or lifting up to 35 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Two years' experience working with young children
- At least 150 hours working/volunteering with children within the last 6 months
- Fifteen (15) units in Early Childhood Education
- Units in Growth and Development
- Units in Child-Family & Community
- Units in Administration in ECE
- Two Program/Curriculum courses
- Three (3) infant/toddler units (if working in an infant classroom)
- Three (3) school age units (if working in a school age classroom)
- Working knowledge of personal computers
- Experience with Microsoft Word
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Experience with Outlook
- Successful completion of the fingerprinting process
- Successful transfer of fingerprints from another program
- Successful criminal background check
- Clearance from either Live Scan in CA or obtaining a Sheriffs Card in NV
- Successful completion of the hiring packet
- Ability to kneel down to maintain eye contact at child's level
- Ability to sit on the floor to engage with students
- Ability to respond to a child's first aid needs
- Ability to lift or move 1–35 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift or move 35+ pounds
- Must be available for onsite work in Ventura, CA
- Must be available for standard business hours
- Must be available for a contract duration of 6 months (September 2026 – March 2027)
