Job Summary
Conduct daily bus inspections to ensure state licensing and DMV safety standards are met. Safely transport preschoolers to and from school, creating a joyful environment with appropriate music and positive language. Monitor student behavior, document concerns, and coordinate with the director to ensure smooth rides. Perform safe drop-offs by handing children to authorized representatives. Maintain a clean, fueled bus while keeping your CDL, certifications, and paperwork current. Stay engaged through in-service training, staff meetings, and parent events. You may also step into teacher or assistant roles when needed. This full-time position in Glen Allen, Virginia offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.00–$20.00, plus childcare tuition discounts and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Meets all state preschool and bus driver requirements
- Qualifies under Cadence Education's insurance underwriting standards
- Current CPR & First Aid certifications
