Job Summary
Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience. Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities. Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers. Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children. Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation. Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire. This seasonal full-time role supports the mission to provide high-quality education and care at the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County.
Required Qualifications
- 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC
- 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age
- Associate Teacher Permit or higher
- Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or the California equivalent of a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit at time of hire
- Be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years
- Have an associate or bachelor's degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree
- Valid California driver's license
- Current DMV driving record
- Proof of insurance
- Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire
- Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire
