Job Summary
Lead activities promoting physical, mental, and social development through games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips. Relate to children with courtesy and patience while enforcing rules for behavior and maintaining classroom safety. Conduct balanced instruction, demonstrate work, and adapt methods to meet students' varying needs. Assimilate arriving children by greeting them, assisting with outerwear, and selecting engaging activities. Attend to basic needs including feeding, dressing, and diaper changes, while teaching proper eating habits and hygiene. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with extended hours as needed. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, meet DFPS licensing requirements, and maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certifications. A Class C driver's license with a clear record and annual transportation training are required. The position supports The Pillars' mission to deliver high-quality, faith-based early childhood education within the Lantern Learning Group network.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements
- Meet minimum age, education, background check and medical qualifications for caregivers established by DFPS Licensing
- Complete annual training required by DFPS Licensing
- Maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
- Transporting children
- Class C driver's license with a clear Department of Public Safety record
- Two hours of transportation training annually
