Job Summary
Supervise preschool children during aftercare hours, ensuring their safety while planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social and physical development. Maintain a clean, organized environment, assist with snacks and hygiene, and monitor attendance and observations. Encourage positive peer interactions and conflict resolution skills, communicating regularly with parents and school staff regarding progress and incidents. Address behavioral challenges using problem-solving and calm, attentive care to foster a secure atmosphere. This role requires a high school diploma, child development knowledge, and CPR certification, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting
- Basic knowledge of child development principles
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with state childcare regulations
- Monday through Friday 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in aftercare or extended day programs
- Familiarity with state licensing requirements for childcare programs
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
