Job Summary
Supervise students during aftercare hours, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and structured environment while leading age-appropriate activities, games, outdoor recreation, and quiet-time programming. Support positive student behavior by reinforcing school expectations and coordinate dismissal procedures to verify releases to authorized adults. Communicate with the Director of Auxiliary Programs and staff regarding student needs, interface with parents to share relevant information, and maintain a clean, organized aftercare space. Requires a full school year commitment, weekday afternoon availability, and health clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 units, OR minimum of 6 credits complete AND currently enrolled in at least 2 units
- Available to work weekday afternoons
- Experience working with preschool children in a school setting, or similar setting such as a summer camp
- Courteous, warm, and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow directions and flexibly problem solve
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Health Screening, TB clearance, and background fingerprinting clearance required
- A full school year commitment is expected
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Normal vision and hearing abilities
- Ability to turn, bend and reach
- Ability to move oneself around the campus
- Ability to drive to other locations for meetings, conferences, etc.
