PreSales Systems Engineer

Job Summary
PreSales Systems Engineer responsible for leading technical pre-sales activities, including architecture design, customer requirements gathering, and presentations to demonstrate Quantum products in media/entertainment workflows. Focus on creating reference architectures, guiding solutions with 3rd-party interoperability, and collaborating with Sales, Project Managers, and Product Managers to develop and present formal proposals. Must articulate product capabilities and differentiators, handle customer inquiries, perform needs assessments, and translate technical and business requirements into detailed design documents and Visio diagrams. Requires strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills; experience with storage technologies, M&E workflows, and cross-platform environments; ability to work in a fast-paced team and independently; and willingness to engage in proof-of-concept and implementation planning.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science OR equivalent experience
- 8+ years in pre-sales technical position or related field
- Strong understanding of storage technologies (NAS, SAN, DAS, OSD, Software Defined Storage)
- Experience with Media and Entertainment workflows
- Strong scripting skills (shell, Python)
- Experience with MAC, UNIX, LINUX and Windows
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proof of ability to design end-to-end solutions and create architecture/technical briefs
- Experience in responding to RFIs/RFPs and crafting technical recommendations
- Project management and governance experience
- Knowledge of ISV partnerships and interoperability with 3rd-party products
- Ability to travel as needed
