Job Summary
PreSales Consulting Systems Engineer provides pre-sales technical support for complex networking solutions to State/Local/Education customers in the Central to SW Georgia markets. The SE collaborates with Territory Managers to qualify opportunities, deliver tailored architectural solutions, and present demonstrations and proposals. Responsibilities include managing accounts and partner relationships, delivering hardware/software/services solutions, performing technical presentations, developing bids and proposals, and guiding customers through the sales process to closure. The role requires deep networking infrastructure knowledge, solution selling capabilities, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to tailor solutions to customer needs. They will mentor junior engineers and maintain a sales pipeline aligned to regional goals, leveraging product knowledge to support internal/external stakeholders and drive demand generation.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of infrastructure engineering and some experience with successful pre-sales support is preferred.
- Career level oral & written communication, organizational, presentation, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be customer focused and have the ability to design and manage solutions to complex technical issues.
- Ability to interface with senior levels of internal / external organizations is required.
- Ability to mentor more junior Systems Engineers in the assigned territory is required.
- Industry expert-level certifications strongly recommended.
