Prepared Foods Team Leader Assistant

Lead and supervise the prepared foods team, coaching and mentoring team members to achieve high production and efficiency. Assist in controlling operating expenses and understanding P&L/Labor costs, while coordinating schedules and enforcing company policies. Drive merchandising initiatives, in-store promotions, sampling, and special events to boost profits. Maintain food quality and safety standards, sanitation, and proper storage (labeling/code dating, cross-contamination prevention, temperature control) and ensure all equipment is in good working order. Analyze customer satisfaction data and audits to identify improvements, and collaborate with the Prepared Foods Team Leader/Manager for staff development and future leadership opportunities. Prepare and set up Gourmet food cases and Grab & Go displays, including cooking, frying, grilling, chopping, dicing, and slicing as required. Coordinate with the team to meet out-of-stock goals and support a nurturing, family-oriented store environment at Giant Eagle across the Greater Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and Indianapolis areas.
