Preparation Technician

Prepare mineral samples for analysis by crushing coal, petroleum coke, and fertilizers in accordance with published standards. Perform sample pickups and field testing, then transfer, label, and file samples with accurate date and paperwork documentation. Transport samples to and from the laboratory or office location while wearing required PPE and adhering to local and federal safety processes. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on preparation equipment, ensuring all containers are cleaned and organized before and after use. Accurately record all data associated with sample preparation. Works under immediate supervision with occasional overtime on flexible day shifts in Hampton, VA.
