Preparation Supervisor (Gladstone)

Job Summary
Lead and coordinate daily coal sample preparation and testing to deliver accurate, timely laboratory results in SGS Australia’s Gladstone coal laboratory; supervise preparation activities, ensure compliance with policies and ISO/IEC 17025/NATA standards, promote a strong safety culture, support staff training and competency development, and drive continuous improvement across operations; build relationships with internal teams and clients while guiding the team to maintain high-quality sampling, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in coal laboratory operations
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards) highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of sampling, preparation, analysis, validation, and reporting
- Experience with quality and compliance systems
- Strong safety mindset with proven risk management capability
- Solid administrative and computer skills (Word, Excel, CCLAS)
- Proven ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
