Prep/Pantry Cook

Job Summary
Prepare ingredients by measuring, cutting, and marinating meats while following recipes and portion guidelines. Maintain an organized pantry by inspecting deliveries, rotating stock, and reporting supply shortages. Set up equipment and utensils for line cooks, clean and sanitize workstations, and monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate records. Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate timing for timely dish service and assist with line cooking during busy periods or when staff are absent. Comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and labeling. Must be at least eighteen years old with a valid Food Handlers Certification and ability to work late nights and unpredictable hours.
Required Qualifications
- Food safety knowledge, including familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices, along with an understanding of proper food storage, handling, and hygiene procedures
- Ability to follow sanitation protocols, including proper handwashing and appropriate glove use
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and noisy kitchen environment
- A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for creating delicious food
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant POS – Aloha, Hot Schedule, Paylocity
- Must be at least eighteen years old
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a prep or pantry role
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours
