Job Summary
Set up and sanitize workstations, follow prep lists, and measure ingredients to prepare cooking components like soup stock. Execute opening and closing duties, check ingredient freshness, and assist chefs with culinary tasks including grilling, sautéing, and plating. Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas in a clean, sanitary condition while adhering to health regulations and safety policies. Report any food quality concerns immediately to the Chef on duty. Perform other assigned duties as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- 1+ year's of various culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering kitchen
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure of deadlines, while working independently and delivering against multiple priorities
- Southern Nevada Health District Food Handlers Certified
- Be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able to maintain calm and professional demeanor in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, irregular hours, and varied shifts
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language
- Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke
