Job Summary
Follow prep lists to plan duties, label and stock ingredients, and measure seasonings for cooking. Wash, chop vegetables, cut meat, and prepare simple dishes like salads and entrees. Undertake basic cooking tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling food. Maintain a clean kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring proper food storage. Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines while performing other assigned kitchen duties. Requires continuous walking and mobility up to 8 hours daily, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as prep cook
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Very good physical condition and endurance
- Continuous walking and other means of mobility up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
