Job Summary
Prep Cook at the Mavericks Performance & Training Center, responsible for preparing ingredients, organizing production, and supporting culinary operations to ensure efficient and consistent service across the facility. Responsibilities include washing, cutting, portioning, and preparing fruits, vegetables, proteins, sauces, and other ingredients; assisting with stocks, soups, dressings, marinades, and other foundational products; maintaining organized prep stations, labeling and storage, monitoring inventory, and assisting with deliveries. Supports banquet, catering, hospitality, and special events; follows recipes, production sheets, and adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Works with culinary leadership and kitchen staff to ensure high-quality, timely food service for player dining, executive dining, VIP hospitality, and events. Requires Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain upon hire; flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events; capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate in a fast-paced sports hospitality environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of kitchen, food preparation, or culinary experience preferred
- Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to follow recipes, prep sheets, and production schedules
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
