Job Summary
Prep cook duties include completing all tasks on the prep list from the Chef or kitchen manager; labeling and stocking ingredients on accessible shelves; washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients; measuring quantities of seasonings; parboiling and reducing sauces; starting first steps in various dishes; cleaning dishes and utensils; sanitizing kitchen; adhering to nutrition and sanitary standards; tracking ingredient inventory and assisting with resupply with management; may perform other duties; team members are expected to have fun while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a prep cook in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety and hygiene
- Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time
