Job Summary
Conduct peri-operative patient care in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting under supervision, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Direct ancillary personnel in clinical areas while initiating physical and psycho-social assessments, obtaining informed consent, and completing pre-operative interviews. Manage daily schedules to prepare patient care areas based on procedure types, communicate status changes to physicians and families, and ensure all patients meet discharge criteria before providing post-operative instructions. Document variances and concerns with physicians and staff, participate in NSH benchmarking programs, and obtain CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Requires current MO RN license, minimum one year experience in Preop/PACU/Recovery/ICU, and availability for PRN hours in an Orthopedic and Pain Management surgery center.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Graduate of approved school of professional nursing with current and valid licensure with State Board of Nursing
- Minimum of two years of experience required in ICU/Emergency Room/Recovery Room or other critical care nursing environment
- Knowledge of State, Federal and Accrediting Body regulations and standards related to healthcare
- Ability to achieve CPR, ACLS, PALS certification within 60 days of employment
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Current MO License - RN
- CPR required
- ACLS required
- Minimum one year experience in Preop, PACU/Recovery, ER, or ICU
