PreOp/PACU Charge Nurse

Join our brand-new Ambulatory Surgery Center in Lenexa, Kansas as a PreOp/PACU Charge Nurse. The role leads nursing activities in PreOp and PACU for scheduled orthopedic cases, serves as the clinical resource and on-floor supervisor for RN, LPN, and patient care technician staff, and ensures efficient patient flow and OR scheduling. You will mentor and support nursing staff, manage postoperative recovery with expertise in pain management for orthopedic patients, and provide thorough discharge instructions including wound care, DVT prophylaxis, weight-bearing status, and follow-up care. Additional responsibilities include overseeing medication management per DEA and facility policy, and conducting daily environmental safety rounds and equipment inspections. Requirements include a current Kansas RN license, a minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ambulatory/outpatient setting preferred, and experience in PreOp and/or PACU nursing (dual competency strongly preferred).
