Job Summary
Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations, complying with portion sizes, quality standards, and ServSafe procedures. Communicate with the chef for instructions and uphold all health codes, sanitation regulations, and kitchen safety protocols. Maintain food, utensils, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner while performing opening, closing, and side work duties including end-of-day inventory. Read and comprehend prep sheets to follow instructions safely using kitchen tools. Shifts require lifting 50 lbs, standing for the entire length of the shift, and operating equipment in variable temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and follow instructions
- Capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment ware
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk for the entire length of the shift
- Must be able to work in a confined space
- Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, and whip a variety of foods and liquids
- Manual ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Ability to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
- Ability to label, date, and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
- Ability to communicate with the chef for any instructions or training
- Ability to uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow all safety, security, and kitchen procedures
