Job Summary
Deliver rigorous math instruction for grades 9–12 while analyzing Ohio State Test trends to design targeted remediation and intervention strategies. Balance classroom teaching with curriculum alignment to Ohio Learning Standards, administer diagnostic tests, and maintain detailed progress reports for parents. Manage instructional and program duties including after-school and Saturday tutorials, collaborate with faculty on co-planning and professional development, and ensure modifications are implemented for special education students. Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrative staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Math or Secondary Education
- Valid, active Ohio Professional Educator License for Secondary Education (Grades 7–12) with an Integrated mathematics endorsement
- Must pass Ohio BCI and FBI criminal background checks required for state school employment
- Teaching experience in a Public School (3+ years preferred)
- Ability and patience to work interactively with students
- Computer literate
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and implement teaching curriculum programs and instruct students on utilization
- Ability to understand the individual needs of each student
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of students, parents, co-workers, and the Campus Director
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessment scoring, and grade point average
- Flexibility with changes, etc.
- Must have a clear understanding of goal setting for students and the individualized approach
- Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of students, their parents, the community, peers, administrative staff, Campus Directors, Superintendents, and corporate staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Must be able to deliver, remediate, and align the 9–12 curriculum with Ohio's Learning Standards for Math
- Ability to analyze student assessment trends from Ohio State Tests (OST) to lead targeted reading and writing intervention strategies
- Ability to administer and monitor Diagnostic Tests to determine a student's performance level
- Ability to communicate with parents and schedule periodic meetings, before or after school, to discuss student progress and problems
- Ability to work closely with the special education teacher to ensure modifications are being implemented for special education students
- Ability to assist and counsel students in adjustment and academic problems
- Ability to prepare classroom instructions to promote student success on state assessment exams
