Job Summary
Premier Client Specialist serves as the primary client contact to uncover financial needs and deliver holistic banking and investment solutions in compliance with regulatory policies. The role collaborates with BMO partners, COIs, and the community to acquire new clients, grow assets under management, and increase investment penetration within portfolios. Responsibilities include providing financial advice and solutions (e.g., simplified advisory accounts, annuities, mutual funds, 529s, life insurance), developing financial plans, coordinating with Financial Advisors for complex needs, promoting digital platform adoption, and executing sales strategies to meet targets. The position requires building relationships, identifying opportunities for deposit, loan, and investment products, onboarding clients, and maintaining regulatory and risk-compliant service delivery. The incumbent may mentor branch personnel, review credit considerations, and participate in community outreach and client events, with compensation influenced by location and performance. The role includes US-specific licensing requirements and must align with the bank’s risk, compliance, and safeguarding standards.
Required Qualifications
- Typically, 3+ years of relevant experience
- post-secondary degree preferred, not required
- SIE Exam required
- Series 6, 63, 65 licenses required; Series 7, 66 or 65 licenses preferred
- state Life and Health insurance licenses required; if not held, required within 120 days of start date
- in-depth knowledge of banking products, brokerage and insurance products, and advisory capabilities
- ability to develop and execute a business plan and sales strategies
- ability to onboard clients and manage client experience within regulatory guidelines
- strong understanding of risk management and compliance policies
- proven ability to identify opportunities for asset growth and cross-sell within portfolios
