Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans for PreK ESL students, adapting instruction to meet individual needs including gifted, bilingual, and special education requirements. Monitor student achievement through formative and summative assessments while managing classroom behavior and creating a supportive learning environment. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP guidelines and supervise teacher aides or volunteers. Establish open communication lines with parents and community members while maintaining professional relationships with supervisors and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned
- Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent with technology use and actively integrates technology to enhance student learning
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress
- Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making
Desired Qualifications
- ESL Supplemental Certification preferred
