Pregnancy Justice - Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary

Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to grow individual and major donor revenue, managing a portfolio of 75–125 donors and prospects. Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for major gifts averaging $5,000+, while partnering with the President and Board on donor engagement. Draft compelling proposals and reports, and leverage the organization's 25th anniversary to deepen support through integrated storytelling and campaign planning. Directly supervise the Development Associate, providing coaching and performance management while strengthening donor relationship management systems. This newly created Director-level role strengthens revenue infrastructure for Pregnancy Justice, a pioneering legal advocacy nonprofit defending the rights of pregnant people.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of nonprofit experience
  • at least 3-5 years of work in individual and major gift fundraising
  • Demonstrated success cultivating and closing five-figure gifts
  • Experience designing or significantly expanding an individual giving program
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and financial management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full fluency in English
  • Demonstrated commitment to and passion for Pregnancy Justice's mission, goals, and priorities
  • Approaches work with rigor, diligence, and a desire for excellence
  • Ability to self-recognize or receive feedback about one's mistakes, own them, learn from them, integrate their lessons, and move forward
