Job Summary
Pre-Fabrication Generalist produces parts for welders from engineering drawings or work orders, operating a range of shop machinery (press, punches, plate rolls, drill press, plasma cutter, bevel machine), and may operate tow motors or forklifts. Requires ability to interpret mechanical and assembly drawings, apply shop math and trigonometry, manage a fast-paced team environment, and maintain an organized workspace while handling stainless steel alloys. Training provided for the right candidate; emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a safety-sensitive role at an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications

- Able to communicate effectively either by written word, word of mouth, or E-mail
- Some experience with computer databases
- Driven to excel/over-achiever
- Experience with automated/programmable equipment consoles
- Experience with tow motors / pallet jacks
- Experience with overhead cranes / rigging of large materials (I.E. plates, heads, weldmets)
- Able to keep work area clean and well organized (equipment in good working order)
- Experience with a wide variety of stainless steel alloys
- Proficient in the interpretation of mechanical drawings, and assembly drawings
- Must possess the ability to layout and create parts from drawings accurately
- Skill in the use of trigonometry, shop math and construction formulae
- Time management skills
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
- Every day repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, involving gripping and wrist torquin
- Every day stair climbing, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, and occasional reaching overhead
- Everyday lifting 25-50 lbs
- Exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements
- Must have ability to hear emergency communications and alarms
