Job Summary
Prepare accurate conceptual, preliminary, and contract cost estimates using MC² or Sage software, while performing quantitative take-offs and maintaining historical cost data. Develop life-cycle cost analyses and value engineering studies for MEP systems, lead proposal preparation, and negotiate professional service agreements with consultants. Coordinate bidder solicitations, manage design schedules against milestones, and review design documents for constructability and code compliance. Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure project accuracy, attend sales presentations, and transition projects to construction turnover. This role requires frequent site visits, travel, and proficiency in Primavera and BIM technologies, with a focus on mentoring junior staff at senior levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Preconstruction, estimating, or design coordination experience appropriate to the level
- Proficiency in estimating software (MC², Sage, or similar)
- Proficiency in project management tools
- Proficiency in BIM technologies
- Experience developing and managing CPM schedules in Primavera or similar
- Knowledge of construction project delivery methods (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, CM at Risk, IPD)
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 with advanced Excel and presentation skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A valid driver's license

- Primarily office-based role with frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites
- Regularly required to sit, walk (including on rough or uneven surfaces), use hands and fingers to handle equipment and files, reach, drive, bend, talk, see, and hear
- Occasionally required to stand, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crouch, or twist
- Infrequently required to crawl
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Office environment with frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites
- Noise and light levels may be higher
- Proper PPE is required
- Temperature varies by location and season

- Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (advanced Excel) and SharePoint
- Proficiency in estimating software (MC²/Sage)

- Able to collaborate via Zoom or Teams
- Ability to type complex correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Able to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions
- Able to interpret plans, specifications, and technical requirements to resolve complex preconstruction challenges

- Energy-modeling experience
