Job Summary
Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantitative surveys, and life-cycle cost analyses for building systems. Assist in developing CPM project schedules, create written scopes of work, and conduct thorough reviews of plans and specifications. Obtain construction-related permits, assist with subcontractor solicitation, update project logs, and conduct field inspections to coordinate project delivery. Collaborate with civil, architectural, and structural teams while supporting bid preparation and energy-modeling studies. This entry-level role offers mentorship through Samet University and growth alongside core engineering disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with a general contractor, full-time or through an internship
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sage Estimating software, and Primavera (or willingness to learn)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in cost estimating, scheduling, and building systems
- A valid driver's license
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Ability to collaborate via Zoom or Teams
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Able to comprehend and execute detailed written and oral instructions using common-sense reasoning
- Able to navigate problems involving concrete variables in conventional situations
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Occasionally required to stand, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crouch, or twist
- Infrequently required to crawl
- Frequent, recurring visits to active construction sites
- Frequent travel is required
