Job Summary
Lead preconstruction efforts from RFQ pursuit through construction commencement, coordinating with Project Executives, the VP of Acquisition, and the Director of Preconstruction to mitigate risk and maximize project value. Audit current activities, verify project status, and develop win strategies for both project pursuits and internal issues. Provide conceptual estimates, review drawing updates for constructability, and participate in value engineering processes to create standard cost-saving ideas. Maintain deep relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors while attending OAC meetings, business development events, and networking committees. Mentor teams on Target Value Delivery principles and best practices, ensuring complete alignment on risks, margins, and schedules prior to internal meetings.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years of construction-related experience in a preconstruction role
- over 10 years in the construction industry overall
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Utilizes good judgment and remains efficient while under stress
- Capable of communicating effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of all aspects of the construction process
- Must have a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, organizational skills, task oriented
- Must be willing to travel if required
