Job Summary
Preconstruction Manager responsible for executing all preconstruction and estimating activities for Blach Construction’s Southern California region, including conceptual to construction drawings, quantity take-offs, ITB development, GMP assembly, and collaboration with owners, design teams, and CM/PM teams. Leads cost proposals, preconstruction narratives, and interviews for potential projects; conducts value engineering and cost studies on structure, exterior skin, and MEP systems; manages subcontractor procurement and bid package development; maintains strong relationships within the AEC community and contributes to constructability reviews, site investigations, and early procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or architecture
- four or more years of experience in estimating or project management
- experience with Bay Area building contractors
- excellent customer service
- experience with preconstruction activities
- experience in Design-Build projects a plus
- excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
- ability to work at both detailed and strategic levels
