Job Summary
Preconstruction Manager responsible for running major projects and developing new business opportunities with new and existing customers. Maintain project details and plan and organize projects as a Pursuit Leader. Liaise with prime clients and A/E to facilitate construction activities, represent the company in project meetings, supervise pricing quotations, and manage contracts to protect profitability while maintaining strong client relationships. Requires knowledge of design build/design assist/IPD/Lean/LEED, strong communication skills with owners, architects, and consultants, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Requires Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field and a minimum of 5 years of construction experience; travel up to 25% and proficiency with MS Office (Oracle preferred). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or other related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction industry; electrical contractor preferred
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods required
- Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, and design consultants
- Thorough understanding of design build, design assist, IPD, Lean and LEED
- Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations which can greatly affect profitability
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others
- Willingness to travel up to 10-25%
