Preconstruction Manager - Renewables

Job Summary
Conduct preconstruction and estimating for renewable energy projects, acting as the primary day-to-day contact for owners and design teams. Lead bid processes as "Bid Captain," manage project budgets, and oversee construction schedules while preparing qualifications that align with contractual obligations. Build stakeholder relationships with owners, subcontractors, and vendors, representing McCarthy at industry events and design coordination meetings. Manage documentation, deliverables, and the buyout log, and implement safety and EEO programs. Assist in staff training and risk management, providing alternative solutions during design decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
- minimum of 5 years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Experience on large scale and utility scale solar projects
- Experience with alternative delivery projects, including cost modeling, cost trending, and GMPs
- Experience estimating self-perform disciplines, including labor and material pricing
- Proven experience managing preconstruction for a wide range of relevant projects
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
- Experience leading successful team ventures, including the development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities and subcontractor community
- Self-starter
