Job Summary
Preconstruction Manager leads early project setup for commercial, industrial, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities include leading preconstruction planning, reviewing plans and construction documents with Bluebeam, supporting conceptual estimating, budgeting, subcontractor scoping, and bid analysis, coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing across civil, mechanical, controls, utilities, and site work, developing project schedules, and aligning technical requirements with engineering, sales, and operations. The role involves identifying constructability concerns, project risks, procurement challenges, and scheduling conflicts early in development, supporting permit coordination and regulatory compliance, maintaining and improving internal estimating tools and preconstruction workflows in Excel and related platforms, and serving as a key communication point between internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or construction management
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project planning
- Experience with Bluebeam, Excel-based estimating tools, and construction document review
- Background in civil construction, underground utilities, earthwork, infrastructure, mechanical systems, or related construction environments strongly preferred
