Preconstruction Manager

Job Summary
Lead preconstruction activities from project concept through construction, including development, design coordination, and cost estimation. Conduct site surveys to assess site conditions, dimensions, electrical systems, and utility interconnection options while gathering technical project data. Coordinate with internal design teams and third-party engineers to develop complete designs, prepare project budgets, and develop bid packages. Lead constructability reviews, coordinate preliminary PV system layouts, and support sales efforts during RFP/RFQ responses and customer meetings. Prepare drawings and technical information for proposals and contracts, while managing permitting and utility interconnection applications. Requires 5+ years of experience in construction development and energy generation projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, renewable energy, engineering, project management, or equivalent technical degree or experience
- 5+ years of experience in a generally related construction development process including general contracting, project development, design and engineering, and construction of energy generation projects
- Knowledge of general construction, solar PV systems, battery storage, design/build methods, and project lifecycle
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Tech-savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and solar monitoring platforms
- Self-starter with a team mindset, ready to contribute to a hands-on, entrepreneurial culture
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship currently or in the future
- Pre-hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability and a background check
