Job Summary
Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure complete project scope prior to estimating. Develop comprehensive Scopes of Work, Schedules of Values, and preliminary construction schedules. Coordinate subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and buyout activities while performing constructability reviews and value engineering. Identify project risks, prequalify suppliers, and manage procurement for long-lead materials. Support client budget reviews, proposals, and cost presentations. Lead project turnover meetings and transfer documentation to Project Management and Procurement. Assist with permitting coordination and code compliance reviews. Collaborate with designers, architects, engineers, owners, and internal teams throughout project startup. Support renovation planning for occupied facilities and recommend process improvements. Base salary ranges from 115k to 130k/year with medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off. Located in Tallahassee, FL, with ability to travel across North and Central Florida.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management with direct ownership of scope development and subcontractor buyout
- Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, blueprints, and project documentation
- Experience developing Scopes of Work and Schedules of Values
- Experience managing bid solicitation, bid leveling, subcontractor procurement, and subcontractor buyout
- Experience performing constructability reviews and value engineering
- Experience coordinating project budgets, estimating support, procurement, and project handoffs
- Proficiency with Bluebeam or equivalent digital takeoff and document markup software
- Experience using Buildertrend, Monday.com, or comparable construction management software
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Ability to work from the Tallahassee, FL office
