Lead preconstruction and design-phase activities across multiple Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, providing technical oversight of electrical and mechanical systems; collaborate with project executives, clients, and engineering teams to ensure design meets scope, budget, and schedule; oversee technical proposals, cost estimates, and design validation; mentor a multi-disciplinary team; conduct constructability reviews and risk assessments; support early procurement and subcontractor selection; coordinate design handoff between design teams, field teams, and business development; travel 20–25%; hybrid work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or energy systems engineering within construction or preconstruction
- Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), power delivery, or utility-scale construction projects
- Proficiency in project management and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel 20–25%
