Job Summary
Preconstruction Estimator for commercial construction projects in High Point/Greensboro area. Develop conceptual through construction document level estimates, collaborate with preconstruction, operations, and business development to define scope and approach, perform quantity take-offs, prepare narratives and scope breakdowns, solicit subcontractor pricing, review bids for complete scope coverage, participate in pre-bid/site walks, support value engineering, and coordinate with scheduling and operations to align cost and constructability strategies. Requires 5+ years in commercial estimating and a Bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering (or related experience); proficiency with estimating software (Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project) preferred. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred or equivalent industry experience
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost drivers
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with trade partners
- Experience with estimating and construction software such as Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
- Pre-engineered metal building experience is an asset but not required
