Preconstruction Estimator - Commercial Flooring

Job Summary
Download construction documents from general contractor websites and collect relevant data to ensure project completeness. Organize work to meet deadlines, update estimating files with takeoffs and pricing, and prepare Measure files per SOP. Perform digitized take-offs using company software to engineer flooring assemblies and compile bid estimates based on plans and specifications. Monitor notifications from general contractors regarding changes, follow up with clients on submitted pricing, and compile submittals including shop drawings and samples. Manage workload to ensure bids are submitted on due dates while prioritizing multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents
- Knowledge of floor covering products such as Carpet, Hardwood, Vinyl, Ceramic Tile/Stone
- Knowledge of means and methods in flooring business environment
- Ability to accurately build out a warranty-proof, profitable and executable assembly for each flooring scope
- Working knowledge MS Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft programs
- Proficiency in use of estimating software
